Enterprise

The Enterprise with its distinct light blue sails is a much loved dinghy used for both cruising and racing alike. Its generous size and power appeals to all ages. The Enterprise attracts many high class sailors who race it eagerly. The boat sets high standards in both its room and stability. Those that sail an Enterprise enjoy its confident handling characteristics when racing or cruising open water.
Yawl
Length: 16ft

The Yawl, especially the locally built Salcombe Yawl, defines the supreme hand built quality of the boat builder's craft. Easy to recognise with its beautiful clinker hull and ketch rig, those lucky enough to sail one revere her generous size, timeless beauty and fine sailing attributes.
Dragon

The elegant Dragon class keel-boat's lines have remained unchanged since its design in 1929, although today’s Dragons utilise modern day technology. Its original beauty as a comfortable two berth cruiser was quickly adapted for racing. Today the boat boasts its own Gold Cup event and is an Olympic class. The majestic Dragon sails effortlessly and its natural speed when helmed by a skillful crew belies a beautiful handling boat. A Dragon is a sailboat of clean, classic lines and fine sailing pedigree.
J Class
Length: up to 135 ft

The J class rating is reserved for the largest and arguably the most beautiful of racing yachts. They are the epitome of sleek design and unbridled grace. To see a J class yacht race is an emotionally stirring event. The hull design is designed for speed over distance, the sail design matches that zest to race hard and fast .Reserved for the elite of society, no expense was spared in creating the most stunning yachts ever produced. From keel to mast, every fitting was created for both function and beauty. To race a J class in the Americas Cup is the dream of all true yachtsmen.
All of our 22 bedrooms are furnished to the same high standard but as you might expect with a boutique hotel they do vary a little in size and aspect.
Given the New England style and our proximity to the sea it will be of no surprise to you that we chose to name our room categories after sailing boats.
