Formerly the South Sands Hotel Restaurant, Seagrass Salcombe is our fresh new identity yet everything you love about us remains the same. Our stunning location on the beach, warm hospitality and dedication to exceptional dining.The name Seagrass was inspired by the quiet power of the seagrass meadows at South Sands and the marine environment that surrounds us.
We welcome well-lived days and unplanned evenings. Residents and non-residents, come as you are, flip flops and all, beach shorts and even soggy doggies can dry off to come and join the rest of the family in the restaurant.

Devour golden sunrises and join the early morning swimmers for a daring dip or remain in your cosy coastal room and watch the beach come to life. Breakfast is served in the restaurant or on the sunrise terrace, begin your day with generous helpings of fresh air and sea views.
Whether a day awash with adventures awaits or your only plan is to enjoy a delicious breakfast and relax on the beach, there is something to entice everyone. From Full English Breakfasts to Eggs Benedict, accompanied by fresh fruit, yoghurt juices and cereals, you can simply be and soak in the start of another perfect day.

Is there anything more indulgent than an Afternoon Tea? Whether you are celebrating something special or just fancy a treat, an afternoon tea is a splendid way to spend an afternoon. Sample a selection of seasonal sandwiches, cakes, warm scones with clotted cream and strawberry jam and a pot of tea or coffee.
For that special occasion, upgrade to a Deluxe Afternoon Tea with prosecco or for something smaller but as equally as inviting, our cream teas will certainly hit the spot. Just remember, in Devon, it’s cream first.

Experience relaxed dining with unbroken sea views across the estuary and dive into a menu inspired by South Devon’s finest seafood.
Pick up the pace post-lunch with a coastal dog walk or paddleboard or wind down with a book on the terrace and mid-afternoon coffee and cake. Nothing sets you up for the rest of the day like a relaxed South Sands lunch.
In the Summer months, our terrace offers a vibrant atmosphere with views of the bustling beach. Come Winter, retreat to the restaurant and savour your classic fish and chips or ribeye steak, then continue your evening with a nightcap by the fire.
We welcome residents and non-residents. Booking for inside seating is recommended and we can cater to dietary requirements on request, just talk to our team prior to arrival.
